Contract Coil Opening and Cut to Length

Multi-Coil Cut-to-Length Calculator and Quote Engine

Enter the weight or diameters of one or multiple coils to calculate developed length, head and tail allowance, cut quantities, remaining balance, and package plan.

Coil information Coil 1

Selecting a grade fills its density automatically. Custom grades can be entered manually.

How should coil weight be determined?
2

Head and tail allowance

If unchanged, the pre-calculation uses the standard 1% allowance; the final value is confirmed during production approval.

3

Cut plan

Enter the cut length first, then choose how you want to request it. Tonnage is approximate; the calculator shows the nearest whole-sheet quantity and actual theoretical weight.

4

Balance and packaging

Packaging does not change the cutting quantity; it only determines how the resulting sheets are divided into packages.

Send the pre-calculation to FMS; final price and lead time follow technical review.

How is coil developed length calculated?

Coil mass can be derived from material density and the annular volume between outer and inner diameters. Developed length is calculated from mass, density, strip thickness, and width. The planner deducts each requested plate from net coil length and reports the remaining balance.

Why is technical approval still required?

Surface condition, actual head and tail deformation, tolerances, levelling behaviour, scale variation, and packaging can change in production. The online result is a pre-calculation, not a binding price or production commitment.
